That spinoff hasn't happened yet, but in the meantime there's always Medieval Land Fun-Time World
People, please see the Bad Lip Reading video of Ted Cruz... it's amazing.

mini rant:

I had an interview and I have to say it was unpleasant! After I had to wait 15 minutes for the lady (works for my law school) to see me (I don't understand why she was so late), she gave me a hard time about last summer. I didn’t mind answering questions, but she kept going on after I answered. She even said out loud (it wasn’t a question) maybe I didn’t get any internships so that’s why I took classes, to which I said, “Noâ€￾ to because I turned down internships. I know, WHAT WAS I THINKING, I'M DOOMED!!!!

Then she asked me who I got advice from or if I got advice from anyone, and she asked me this twice. She did those incredulous laughs and “incredulousâ€￾ is the one word I would use to describe her. I felt as though she were humoring me, as though she were expecting me to say, "Oh you're right, I shouldn't have done that, I'm doomed now. :(" But no, I'm unapologetic! There were more comments she made, but I won't say all of them...

But worst of all was her comment about my fall semester in China. She asked about future plans and I said how I was nominated for the fall so I’ll be doing that soon and while looking at papers she said, "What’s this about being nominated? Don’t you just apply and get in? *chuckle*" and changed the subject, but I made sure to pipe in and say no to that… and I called her a B in my head because I actually beat a lot of people to get my spot and you know I've been tortured by the whole process. I still haven't even gotten my acceptance letter yet!

Then she gave me advice on my resume, for some reason. (One thing was she didn’t think the way I listed the law school on it was good.)

Then she advised me on clinics in general (this was the nicest part because I think I learned something) and then said I won’t be able to interview for them because I’ll be in China so I said, "I’ll work something out." It’s funny because her position is stuff I’ve been doing since my first year of undergrad so it’s not as though I’m some lost soul who has done nothing.

When I finally got to speak about my experiences and classes she had this weird look on, even as I was talking about my latest projects for classes... The word is "incredulous." She also asked me what my favorite and least favorite things about law school are.

She kept asking me if I had any questions so I asked when I'd hear back, so once she answered that she'd give me other advice.

I haven't felt this indignant and princess-like in a while. ::meev:: "DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO?"

Whatever, I have two interviews coming up so she can go AWAY. One is actually bankruptcy-related and it sounds really different from things I've done before and it appeals to my business side.

I approve because this means I'm not the slowest connection here anymore ::meev:: The way people talk, you'd think 10Mbps is some sort of Geneva Convention violation XD

Really I don't watch movies online or anything like that, so it's all overkill if you ask me. I didn't even notice when they upgraded me from 5 to 10.

By the way, whatever happened to the old admins on this website?
Who, Lejun and Amasanin? They just moved on to other things. It's not like they were kicked out or anything XD

Lejun pops in every couple years though.
Amassanin seems gone for good - she was getting grumpy anyway

Croatia is a pretty mixed bag.
Not sure if I would recommend it or not tbh.

It became the craze after it joined the EU, then it became expensive and people steered away, now it seems to be the craze again, due to Muslim countries around the Mediterranean Sea being seen as too dangerous now.

Yeah, for example I was shocked how fast Turkey went downhill after our tour. Just recently they evacuated all American personnel out of Izmir, which seemed like a perfectly safe place last year.

Turkey is scary now, not only because of the terrible attacks that took place in the last few months, but also because the situation is forever changing. There's no knowing where the country is heading these days.

Not gonna lie, I'm really worried about the cats.
If refugees start coming and people can't find food and there are bombs goin off, etc, well...
I don't want to even think about it.

Um so Juka/Shaura closed down his ameblo and said he's quiting music for good.
Apparently people were still spreading bad rumors about him?
I dunno; I haven't heard or read anything in a long time but it's kind of sad.
It was also a little drama à la Dada, but I guess if he felt he had to do it then he had to do it (I'd personally simply stop posting and let people wonder what had happened to me or not)
At least he has like, a job and his family and stuff.

Look, all he has to do is pay me back for those parking tickets and I'm willing to let the whole thing drop ::meev::

Did some decorating in my bathroom the other day, I think it turned out pretty good.

When I saw your Facebook status I thought he died ::meev:: I really liked his voice (especially over Seth's) so I guess this is kind of a bummer.

The birds something something into the the something sky, still I'm here, waiting for youuuu, if I hold you once again.... something I'LL GIVE YOU ALL MY HEAAAART.
I think that's him ::meev::

I finished my second year of law school, woo! I went to bed excited because I couldn't believe that after I had finally submitted my Peruvian business paper I was DONE!!! I just couldn't wait to wake up the next morning, haha. It's very surreal that I only have one year to go. I think the only semester I didn't love was the first semester of the first year, but there was just so much going at the time that mostly went away in the next semester XD. This past year has been my favorite though!

I'm also glad that I did the photography program. It started in November and I remember I wasn't sure if I should even apply because I thought maybe it would be too much to do, but I'm so glad I did it! I resigned myself to my fate and then waited to see if I'd even be accepted or not. I did have to do some scheduling somersaults to maneuver around my classes, but it was totally worth it. Shannen and Corinne are coming to see my photos in the summer because they're nerds. Corinne said, "HOW LONG WILL THEY BE THERE SO I CAN GO SEE THEM EVERY DAY." XD I should invite others eventually XD

Richard: Don't forget the little people now!
Me: who is this

I'll also take acting again and filmmaking classes this summer... We're supposed to have our own short film by the end of the program which should be exciting! *nerd alert* Lee's Art Store is closing after 65 years here so I went there and got some photography supplies, like a portfolio book and tubes, because I want to take them to China.

I also can't wait for my bankruptcy interview in a few hours XD The lady in charge has been very professional and good at explaining what they do, and I really like that. She even had a great little pitch prepared. But what I really liked is that it's an area I'm not very familiar with, but still builds on things I already know, and I like learning new things. I also enjoy speaking to people in general and the position would have a lot of that. I told Richard it's bankruptcy related and he was all, "OMG bankruptcy!!!"

I actually found out about it through this Latina network of attorneys. They shared the posting and I swear, I was so intrigued!

I have another interview on Friday and I have to hear back from the DOC this week, so this week is kind of crazy!

What, really? They were convenient although expensive. Is it too much to hope that they might have a going out of business sale? ::cred::

EDIT: well I went and checked in person, and they DO have a sale... but the locusts have already descended and picked the place clean. As an aspiring locust, this nettles me ::meev::

Yeah, I only found out a few weeks ago! I went to buy photography supplies a couple of weeks ago and they were already pretty low on goods so I'm not surprised they're super low now. I bought a nice portfolio for half off and a small photography tube and a few other things. There's a portfolio review coming up with the photography program so I'd like to have something physical.

I got the bankruptcy internship! I felt so happy and proud of myself. I went to the interview and the attorney in charge and I had a nice conversation where she asked me to tell her 5 points about myself. Boy, that was interesting!
(#4 was, "I love China." After each point I gave an explanation too XD)

#2 was that I'm really interested in how business and the public interest intersects so when I saw the posting I was intrigued right away because it highlights the relationship between consumers and businesses and financial institutions, and I've taken classes on corporate social responsibility, comparative corporate law, and entrepreneurship to learn all about it. And in China I'll learn even more about Chinese business! #1 is that I've been looking for something "different" this entire semester. (#3, #4, and #5 were all more personal, haha!)

After I did that she said she actually went to NYU for undergrad too and was an intern at the same law firm I was an intern at, so I really stuck out to her. SMALL WORLD!!! She said she knows I got a lot of hands-on work already.

She thought I was great even before she met me and she's impressed that I read classical Chinese novels in elementary school and that I'm going to China in the fall. She also liked that I'm interested in a new and growing field and that I go further and learn about other cultures and I see how things are in China and Peru. She said I'm already in so she'll send me a confirmation email. I would be helping people with bankruptcy cases by meeting with them in interviews, helping the hotline, then helping them file/write things, and attending court hearings at the two bankruptcy courts in NY. What's interesting is that it's super-business/financial related too and I'm interested in the relationship there. It also will allow me to learn about bankruptcy law in general AND other types of law and subject areas (even tax). And bankruptcy can occur because of a disability or domestic violence or some other reason so I'd learn about those laws/areas too.

She said she and the former director started it off small, but now they're helping hundreds of low-income people a year who can't afford to hire an attorney.
She said she gets a lot of corporate attorney volunteers that are amazed with their experience!

I felt so nerdy afterwards. Like, "Wow, I AM awesome, I knew it!" I have another interview in a few hours and I'll make sure to do well in it too, but yeah, I felt great! And Richard was so sweet too and said he's excited to hear all my stories about clients I meet. (He likes getting my emails with "reports" XD).

Then I went to see the play "Long Day's Journey into Night" with my mother and my god it was so repetitive and long-winded and just LONG. How is this one of the greatest American plays ever? I don't understand. XD It's like, yeah, we get it, after a point. And every character has a long monologue/speech about why they are the way they are and blablabla. It's strange as I've liked every play I've seen up to now. I don't think it's a bad play, but after a point it got tiring and my mom even dozed off during the monologues in the second act, haha.
