Yes, i know the menus are the battle system, but not just this. You are forgetting the power that these menu gives you while playing, in DQ/FF old style (as for you to think that i am not only pointing bad things about DQ ), you are forced to keep a cast of characters until the very end. While FF10 gives you the power of flexibility in battle. You can change your cast any time...i don't know about you, but i found this to be really great, and also there is a bar on the side that gives you a hint in what order will be the turn of each character based on your actions. so, if you chose to use a potion this turn, the boss may not attack you; instead if you chose to use a fire magic, for example, it might lead the boss to attack before any of your characters and kill all of your party. If these all aren't improving in the way players interact and make their strategies, then i don't know what it is... I thought this way they gave the gameplay a lot of dynamics. I hope you understand my point this time.Pierrot wrote:But the menus -are- the battle system, I'd like to know what you see as nonfluid and fluid, I really want to understand =).
Well, It is not. because i can see some of the value of Dragon Quest. I am not one of those fanatic people that say "X game is the best and all about Y game sucks". I can see the points where DQ shines, but still they don't change my idea of it being a good game for me. And i wouldn't spend time playing a game i think it is crap, just to say "oh, i beat it!"........so, what?Pierrot wrote:Ah, but isn't seeing the quality of a work by your taste, choosing a side?
Also, if you read some of my old posts, i said some bad points about FF as well.
